Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey is a distinguished American whiskey crafted through a collaboration between musician Bob Dylan and the Spirits Investment Partnership. Established in 2015, Heaven's Door Spirits has quickly gained recognition for its innovative approach to whiskey making. The Double Barrel expression is a blend of two straight bourbons and one straight rye, each aged for a minimum of six years in new American oak barrels. After blending, the whiskey undergoes an additional aging period of six to twelve months in custom alligator-charred oak barrels, imparting rich, dark toasted vanilla flavors. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle, it offers a robust and complex profile.
On the nose, Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey presents aromas of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toasted oak, and light fruits such as orange and cherries. The palate reveals flavors of caramel, butterscotch, toasted oak, citrus, peanut, rye spice, and pepper. The finish is medium in length, with a bit of heat, leaving a lasting caramel and oak flavor accompanied by lingering pepper and spice notes.
